Kent Campbell, MFT When life is a series of different problems, we can hope we are growing. Trouble arises when we seem to encounter the same type problem over and over again, but in different ways. I use therapy to examine the difficulties that arise in life and the patterns of our behavior that keep us from living the way we want to. Counseling heals by providing the opportunity to change and heal through the relationship with the therapist. When time alone is not enough to create change in our lives, counseling can be a life changing tool. It is risky to look honestly at ourselves and share that with another person. The good news is that this process can lead to new beginnings and deeper happiness. If you would like to discuss your situation and determine if counseling might be a good fit for you right now, I encourage you to call me to talk about your thoughts and concerns. In my practice, I see children, adolescents, adults, and families. Children benefit from therapy because it offers a unique way for them to work through their developmental hurdles. Children are rarely able to use words to express their distress, but can reveal parts of their inner world through the metaphors of play, art, and conversation. I work with children as young as kindergarten when parents are willing to participate in the counseling process. Adolescents have the opportunity to grow so much in so many different ways. Therapy can be a place for them to share their inner journey and conflicts with a caring adult who is not part of the family. I enjoy working with students who are high achievers as
well as those taking the road less traveled. Families going through a
transition like divorce often find that therapy is highly beneficial for the
children, in both the short-term and over the long-run, as well as the
parents, who are learning to work together in a different manner. Adults work with me to resolve issues
hindering their happiness. Some of
these issues include dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, parenting
concerns, self-esteem issues, and other issues related to their
relationships. I speak Spanish, teach parenting classes, and am available for
consultation with parents. You can
