Welcome to my webpage. I imagine you are here because something in your life is troubling you and you are looking for some clarity about a situation that seems beyond your control. Talking about your feelings and concerns, in a safe environment, can help alleviate your emotional pain and provide an opportunity to make changes which are important to you. When life circumstances change we often find that coping strategies, which once seemed helpful, are no longer working. This can lead to a multitude of feelings and behaviors, including grief, fear, depression, anxiety and addictions. It is my belief that growth and healing are promoted in an atmosphere of trust, safety and empathetic, non-judgmental acceptance. In this environment we will look at the choices you have made, which ones are no longer working for you, and the steps you can take to cope better and with less emotional distress. I believe this can be helpful in finding a way of being in the world that is personally meaningful and satisfying for you. Depending on your goals, I work with your concerns from either a short or long term approach. Short-term therapy is problem-centered and focuses on relieving your immediate distress and finding solutions to current concerns. Long term psychotherapy is in-depth, and looks at how past hurts and pain may have led to coping strategies and ways of thinking which are no longer working for you. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. Should you choose to call we would set up an appointment to see whether we both feel that a good working relationship can be developed. I look forward to hearing from you. You can reach me at (408) 623-1451. I look forward to speaking with you. |
